This 1.5-kilometre sheer rock face rises 100 metres above Mazinaw Lake, one of the deepest lakes in Ontario, and features over 260 native pictographs the largest visible collection in Canada.

Mazinaw comes from the Algonkian words meaning painted. The mile-long granite cliff or the Rock is one of Canada's most depicted landmarks.

The ochre-red pictographs, at canoe level, were painted by the Algonkians.
